This Day in History: 1967-02-07

A blizzard hit the Mahwah area closing schools and businesses.  Governor Richard Hughes declared the 8th a bank holiday to ease the strain on traffic.  The snow was so deep that most motorists did not venture out.  There were few accidents as a result.  Police patrol cars acted as taxis for pedestrians, especially for women found walking alone.
