Educational and Small Group Tours
Teachers / Students
Our docents are happy to provide tours of our museum for Grades 3-12 on a day and time that suits your class schedule (except Wednesdays from 1-4 when we are open to the public). Whether using our current exhibits or customizing your visit to supplement your curriculum, we strive to share our love of history with you and your students!
When contacting the Education Chair, please be sure to specify the age range of the students, the expected number of students and potential dates, as well as any special areas of interest.
Scout Leaders / Scouts
Scout leaders of boys and girls in Grades 3-12 are invited to bring their scouts to the museum for a private tour from September to June. In addition, scout groups from Grades K-12 are welcome to a tour of our 1871 train station and 1929 caboose on Old Station Lane, just west of the current train station, from April to October outside of normal visiting hours. By customizing our tours to meet your badge requirements, our docents hope to provide your scouts with an interesting and educational experience!
When contacting the Education Chair, please include the number of scouts, grade level, and possible requested dates. We ask for a donation of $2.50 per child, and that one adult accompany every two children.
Small Group Tours
Please contact us if you’d be interested in bringing a small group to our museum to learn more about the history of Mahwah. Our docents would be happy to conduct a private tour outside of normal visiting hours, which are weekends and Wednesdays from 1-4 PM.
When contacting our Education Chair, please be sure to specify your area of interest, if any, as well as the expected number of attendees and potential dates.
