Student Perspectives
On October 19, 2020 Ramapo College students from the 1970’s, including Vincent Marchese, Carol Ryan Peterson, and Dean Shapiro, shared their memories of the early years of the college. Afterward, the floor was opened for other Ramapo College students of the 70’s to discuss their experiences and share their memories of the formative years of the school. Dr. Charlie Carreras, Professor Emeritus of Ramapo College of New Jersey moderated the event.
Faculty Perspectives
On November 14th the Mahwah Museum hosted an online program called Life at Ramapo College in the 1970’s: Faculty Perspectives. Founding members of the Ramapo College’s faculty and staff described their experiences, the obstacles they overcame, and the creative ways they launched a progressive curriculum.
Participant were Dr. Eddie Saiff, Professor of Biology and Dean of the School of Theoretical and Applied Science, Dr. Clifford Peterson, retired professor of international politics, and Nancy Mackin Robinson, Dean of Students (retired). Afterwards, Ramapo College alumni and staff were be invited to share their experiences and talk about the professors that they remember. The program was moderated by Dr. Charlie Carreras, Professor Emeritus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.
