The Mahwah Township Committee considered a request for a route of commuter busses through Mahwah. The Short Line Company proposed a route through Mahwah on Route 202 to Oakland, Franklin Lakes, Wyckoff, Waldwick, Ho-Ho-Kus, Ridgewood and Paramus. It would continue through several other towns before reaching Union City and Weehawken. Committeeman Peter Murphy suggested approval of the new route should be held up until the company agreed to change their interstate route away from Airmount Ave. Mrs. Herlihy agreed that Airmount should be avoided, but believed that it would not be fair to commuters to be served by the new route would be held up until the change away from Airmount was agreed upon.
