This Day in History: 1965-06-08
The rapid expansion of developments continued in Mahwah as the Planning Board approved section 7 of the Scotch Hills development in Masonicus. The houses in the new section would sell for $37,000 to $45,000 and would raise the number of homes in Scotch Hills to 71. There were only a few questions asked by neighbors in the Masonicus area concerning roads, and no overt opposition to the decision. The Board also approved a major development in Fardale for Otto Jahn but deferred a decision on approval for another development off Vail Place and Campgaw Road pending receipt of the final map.
