This Day in History: 1956-08-11
At the Township Committee Meeting it was announced that the shattered windshield of the police car had been replaced at no cost to the Town. The car was passing by the Brake Shoe plant when a piece of metal flew out over the fence and struck it. A crane equipped with a swinging ball was being used to break up some scrap metal. The company agreed to halt operations and to replace the windshield. The driver of the car was not injured. (Bristow)
