This Day in History: 1947-06-23
In Recorder Frank Young’s court, a Brooklyn man paid a $3 fine for speeding on Route 17, and a Suffern man paid one of $25 for violating an unnamed local ordinance. The cost of driving on a suspended license was a whopping $100 fine as Sylvester Topnick of Island Road found out to his regret. $2 in court costs were added on top of the C note. Sgt. Ted Wickham brought in the charge. (Bristow)
