The Hohokus (now Mahwah) Township Committee bought $10,000 worth of War Bonds with surplus funds after receiving the approval of the Commissioner of Local Government, Walter R. Darley. The approval arrived simultaneously with a check for $41.90 in interest on the bonds. (Bristow)
