This Day in History: 1937-01-23
The second social party of the Children of Mary Sodality was reported to have been a great success. (2 C’s OK) It attracted young people from several neighboring communities. A highlight of the evening was the amateur hour. Connie Romanish, described as “an aspiring Eleanor Powell-Ruby Keeler dancer” took the first prize. So warm was the applause that she had to do four numbers. Mrs. Louise Karpowicz and Miss Carrie Kwasnicki were the winners of the lucky number dance.
