At least someone in Mahwah knew how to come in out of the rain, even if illegally. Police Chief Smith investigated a report that the Write house on Island Road had been entered into overnight. He found that a window to a store room had been used to get in. Nothing was disturbed however. Smith concluded that whoever it was had simply been seeking shelter from the big rain storm on Wednesday the 8th. (Bristow)
