Word was received that a former Ramsey resident had been killed in action in South America. Major Kenneth Leighton had lived in Bolivia for fifteen years. He was a signaling expert and had been in charge of technical communications work for the Bolivian Army. He hd gone into action at the beginning of the war between Bolivia and Paraguay. No details were released as to how he met his death.
