This Day in History: 1931-06-28
Phillip Lyman reported that his 12 gauge, double barreled shotgun had been stolen from him “in the woods on the Fike Road.” The exact circumstances of the theft were not explained. Chief Smith recovered the firearm the next day. It had already been sold to one of the mountain residents. Chief Smith arrested the seller and had him committed to the County Jail in default of bond.
