This Day in History: 1930-08-03
There were two accidents on successive days in the same place, the intersection of Valley Road and Mountain Road. In the first, a driver from Woodhaven, N. Y. admitted that he had turned out of Mountain Road too wide, running into a Caldwell, N. J. motorist going north on Valley Road. The wife of the driver of the second car was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital for a leg injury. In the second, a Rockland Electric Company truck attempted to turn into Mountain Road at the same moment that a motorcycle started to pass him. The cyclist ended in the hospital with a broken right foot and other injuries. (Bristow)
