This Day in History: 1926-07-10
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shrewsbury and their son Kenneth Jr. left for Chadwick NJ to spend the rest of the summer at the beach. They had joined with Mr. and Mrs. Byron Swan of Sloatsburg in taking a cottage there. (Chadwick no longer exists as such. It was located one mile north of Lavalette. The area now is called Ocean Beach.)
Leaving the same day were Mr. and Mrs. Prentice Ash and Mrs. Ash’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Elmer J. Snow. They had owned a beach front house at Chadwick for many years. (Bristow)
