This Day in History: 1922-07-17
Frederick and William Heidgerd and Robert Wilson are driving by flivver to the Pacific coast and have reached Nebraska. They left Mahwah on July 5 and report good roads everywhere except Iowa. They are camping out and have found that many towns maintain tourist camps. In Valley, Nebraska, they met a party from Ridgewood. Eventually they parted. Frederick Heidgerd got a job in Los Angeles, Robert Wilson is at Big Horn Ranch in Coalmont, Colorado, and William Heidgerd is on his way home by ship. A letter from Wilson was published August 31, 1911. Wilson returned to town (no date) in June, 1923. (Bristow)
