This Day in History: 1920-07-09
A New York City man named Cohen was killed in an auto accident on the Franklin Turnpike between Mahwah and Ramsey. Cohen’s car was going north when an auto, bearing New York places and caught in a long line of cars, tried to pull out and pass the whole string. He struck the Cohen car, shattering the windshield. Cohen was so badly cut by flying glass that he bled to death. Police are searching for the driver of the other car. They have the license numbers. (Bristow)
