The Government Biological Survey has completed a bird survey of the Wyanokie Plateau near Greenwood Lake. Eighteen naturalists identified 77 species and 1,622 nesting pairs. Wood warblers: 21 species; oven bird: 274 pairs; black and white warblers: 85 pairs; Redstart: 84 pairs; Vireos were the next highest: red eyes: 210 pairs, scarlet tanager: 75 pairs. (Bristow)
