Mahwah’s new pastor, the Rev. Ame Vennema, D. D. was installed in an impressive service at the Ramapo Reformed Church. He had been a member of the Classis of Paramus for 16 years as Pastor of the First Reformed Church of Passaic before being President of Hope College, Holland, Mich., the middle west college of the Reformed Church. While President he raised the endowment by $150,000 and enrollment by 80%. He has also served as pastor in New Paltz, Kalamazoo, Mich., Rochester, and Port Jervis. He is a member of the Board of Foreign Missions of the Reformed Church and a frequent contributor to such publications as The Christian Intelligencer. A reception was held for the new Pastor and his family by the Congregation on August 6th. (Bristow)
