At the Ramsey Board of Education Meeting bids for the construction of the New High School whill will serve the outlying communities as well as Ramsey, were opened. Many contractors provided bids but the combined lowest bids were more than the $29,000 authorized so all the checks were returned. Costs have gone up considerably since the State Education Department has raised specifications for the construction of school buildings. The Board believes that about $7,000 additional will have to be authorized for them to construct the building they believe the community needs. They have determined not to build a smaller or less well-equipped one.
