The Board of Freeholders of the County met in Petry’s Hotel in Mahwah to open bids for three new bridges over the Ramapo. They will be built “at Mahwah”, another in Darlington, and a third near Jacob Croute’s residence. The Mahwah contract went to W. W. Pulls for $3,533, the others for J. W. Pulls for $365 and $260 respectively. (Bristow)
