At the Board of Education meeting Grant Smith, principal of the Mahwah School, demanded a raise in salary if he was to remain at the school. After consideration the Board asked for his resignation. They offered the post to Miss Nancy Wade, who had previously announced that she would not remain in the school without a raise. She will be paid $60.00 per month. (Bristow)
