This Day in History: 1888-08-13

The Erie was building new platforms at the west side of various stations along the line. The ones in Suffern and Ramsey were finished, and Mahwah’s not yet completed. During the construction in Ramsey C. A. Sweet accidentally fell from the platform and broke his leg just above the ankle. (Bristow)
