This Day in History: 1874-08-03
An order clerk at the Post Office fell asleep while making a delivery to Darlington. When he awoke the horse had taken him off the route. He was so annoyed that he kicked the horse which responded by kicking back and pulling out of his harness and running away leaving the young man and his wagon abandoned. (Bristow)
