This Day in History: 1951-08-13
The Ramsey High School Band and seven of Ramsey’s champion twirlers added to the din at Ebbets Field as the Brooklyn Dodgers celebrated one of their “Music Depreciation” Nights. They were seated in the left field stands. The girls never did get to twirl but the band played even though the hundreds of instruments in the crowd were tuned to the daffy musical orientation of the famed Dodger Sym Phony. They arrived home at about 1:00 A.M., happy over the Dodgers’ come-from-behind win on a homer by Roy Campanella. (Bristow)
