The Mahwah grammar school defeated Allendale 6-5 in baseball. The undisputed star of the team was John Timko. He took over the pitching in the second inning and finished for his fourth win of the season and he also hit the winning home run in the sixth inning. Mahwah was alone in first place in the league with three more games left to claim the championship for another year. (Bristow)
