An article by Peggy W. Norris

Among the quilts and coverlets which will be featured in the upcoming Bergen County Quilt and Coverlet Show is a beautiful applique quilt from the Mahwah Museum collection which was once owned by Rebecca Hinsdale Kraus (1915-2015). Peggy Norris, chair of the Bergen County Quilt and Coverlet show, was able to determine that the quilt had been passed down through four generations and had most likely belonged to James Turner (1766-1824) and Betsy Park (died 1830), of Warren County, North Carolina. Peggy Norris’s research was documented in an article which was published in the Spring 2020 issue of Blanket Statements, the newsletter of the American Quilt Study Group.
