The weekend feature at the Lafayette Theatre in Suffern was Richard Brook’s adaptation of Dostoyevsky’s famous novel “The Brothers Karamazov”. Starred were Lee J. Cobb as the dominating father and Yul Brenner, Richard Basehart, Albert Salmi and William Shatner as his fun-seeking, scholarly, epileptic and religious sons respectively. Maria School and Claire Bloom also starred. It was Shatner’s first movie role.
