Mary Ritter was appointed as an English and Social Studies teacher at Pierson High School in Sag Harbor on Long Island. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace S. Ritter of Maysenger Road and a 1940 graduate of St. Lawrence University. Miss Ritter had a distinguished record in college. Her poetry had been published by the New York Sun and other publications. She was President of the college Literary Society and served as Associate Editor of two campus newspapers and the college yearbook. She had previously attended Mahwah School No. 2 and Ramsey High School. (Bristow)
