This Day in History: 1923-07-28
On this, the 9th anniversary of the beginning of the War, national observances were held dedicated to “Law Not War” and “No More War”. Mrs. G. M. Ball of Mahwah is the Chairman of the “Education for Peace” Committee for the Mahwah Women’s Club and for the Sixth District. She has arranged for the distribution of 400 handbills and posters to residents of Mahwah. Large posters have been put up in the Library, the Post Office, and stores. The Committee awarded prizes for essays on the general subject of peace at the recent Mahwah School graduation exercises. (Bristow)
