This Day in History: 1888-07-13

An article datelined “Ramseys” County Democrat deplored the actions of an unnamed husband who was reported to have beaten up his wife. This was not, apparently, the first time this had happened, but the general feeling was that a man who would raise his arm to strike an innocent female is unworthy of notice and devoid of all respect.
