Hopes that the Mountain School could be reopened were dashed when a letter from the State Department of Education was read at the School Board meeting. The State authorities insisted that before the school was to be used again it would have to be completely refurbished and that an adequate road would have to built up to it. The Board dropped its plans to use the school again. (Bristow)
