William Nixon, 15, suffered a possible fracture of his leg from an accident involving a horse he was driving at the Blue Ridge Riding Academy. The young resident of Wyckoff Avenue, Fardale, was driving a horse and sulky around the oval at the Academy when the horse reared and threw his driver to the ground. The animal rushed onto Spring Valley Road at Forest Avenue where he crashed into the rear of a truck. The horse was killed instantly. Young Nixon was taken to the Hackensack Hospital by the Paramus Volunteer Ambulance. (Bristow)
