In appealing for funds to support the Ambulance Corps, Chairman Frank B. Scherer reported that the Corps had made 83 calls since it was organized, 77 of them in 1948. During 1948 the Corps covered 1,162 miles, transported 67 to hospitals, 4 from hospitals, rendered first aid to three victims and answered two fire calls. Scherer pointed out that all members of the Corps worked without pay and there was no charge for ambulance service to residents of the Township.
