Mahwah dentist Edward H. Myer Jr. was commissioned a 1st lieutenant in the Army medical Corps. He was ordered to report for duty at Fort Bliss, Texas on February 18th. Dr. Myer was the son of Dr. and Mrs. E. H. Myer Sr. who had lived in Mahwah for 33 years. He was a graduate of the local school and Keystone Academy from which he had been graduated in 1933. Five years later he received his D. D. S. from the University of Maryland. He had been conducting a general practice of family density in Mahwah ever since. He lived with his wife, the former Katherine Ritchie of Suffern and his son another Edward Myer on Franklin Turnpike. He was a member of the county and state Dental Societies and of the American Dental Association.
