This Day in History: 1943-09-16

Andrew H. Hagerman was found dead in his home on Railroad Avenue. He had apparently taken his own life since he was found in the kitchen and all of the gas jets were open. His wife had died suddenly on the 13th. Her funeral was scheduled for the afternoon of the day he died. He had been suffering from a nervous disorder for some time and had decided to enter a sanitarium after his wife’s funeral scheduled for that afternoon. There were no surviving relatives. (Bristow)
