In his annual report to the Township Committee, Fire Chief Wrathall reported that the fire companies had responded to 69 alarms, conducted 20 drills and had spent a total of 64 hours and 5 minutes fighting fires. Two firemen had 100% attendance at fires, Charles Morris and the Chief himself. He stated, however, that fire company No. 2 had not responded to the last three fires when the alarm sounded. *two brush fires and the fire at the Orthman Farm.
