This Day in History: 1942-06-24
Mrs. George O’Brien was hostess for another successful meeting of the Canteen Club of which she was President. As is the custom, various members cooked recipes suitable for canteen work and explained how they were prepared. Mrs. Charles DuPuy did the main dish, Mrs. H. A. Scmitt, the salad, and Mrs. Norman Grisewood the formula for the dessert. Mrs. Holland provided the tea and coffee. Arm bands were distributed for the members who would be participating with other defense workers in the July 4th parade. (Bristow)
