The Literature and Drama Department of the Woman’s Club met at the home of Mrs. Arthur Harris on Owner. The program of the day health with current plays on Broadway. Mrs. Albert Winter reported on the new musical “Cabin in the Sky” described in the newspaper report as a “Negro musical comedy”. The play starred Ethel R. A. Smith led a discussion of “Sapphire and the Slave Girl”. Mrs. Charles Hallenback, who had directed and produced an umber of successful plays for the group, was the Department’s Chairman.
