This Day In History: 1938-03-15
The Mahwah Garden Club formed a Junior Girl Scout Department to assist the scouts in creating a garden. Mr. Dunlop donated the use of the land where the old Cragmere barn once stood. Albert Winter volunteered to plow and harrow the ground and supply a central pipe so they can draw water. James A. Biggs volunteered to help with layout and the selection of seed, while Elliot Henry will obtain donations of seeds and plants. The Garden Club will help them produce plants and vegetables in time for the annual garden show where they were to have their own individual exhibits.
