The Mahwah School was robbed of an Underwood typewriter which belonged to the principal Mr. Gilbert Forte. Desks and closets were looted. Losses totaled about $300.00 . The school reporter stated that the authorities were looking into the matter and would no doubt “will soon be found.” “It is a great pity that there are people who would rob and pilfer our school,” the reporter lamented.
