At the Board of Freeholders meeting Harry A. Stuart was elected County Clerk. He was nominated by HoHoKus Township Freeholder May and elected by a slim 2 vote majority over William V. A. Blauvelt and the only Democratic candidate William Conklin. Stuart was sworn in immediately and began his duties at the meeting. (Bristow)
