The History of Palisades Amusement Park – A Webinar
Hosted by Vince Gargiulo
February 20th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
Pre-registration required *SOLD OUT*
Online – The popular and informative lecture is a comprehensive history of the Park beginning with its inception in the late 1800s, detailing its history of the world’s largest outdoor salt water pool, the musical groups, the rides, the pageants and the disasters, until its ultimate demise in 1971. Throughout the show, the history of the park will come alive through the use of audio and video clips, music and over one hundred rare photographs collected by the Palisades Amusement Park Historical Society.
Hosted by Vince Gargiulo: For over 25 years, Vince has been speaking throughout New Jersey, detailing the history of the famed New Jersey fun center. Vince is the author of the book Palisades Amusement Park: A Century of Fond Memories, and Executive Producer of the NY/Thirteen PBS documentary of the same name.
The Palisades Park exhibit and events have been very popular and unfortunately, our February 20 Palisades Park program reached capacity very quickly.
There is a significant cost in increasing capacity to the next webinar level, and while we would like to, our current financial situation is not great. Like many other small museums, Covid has hit us hard.
We are trying hard to keep our doors open and provide programs for the membership and community. We are considering holding another program in the near future if there is enough interest but haven’t made any definite arrangements. Please consider joining our mailing list – once on the list, you will be able to find out quickly if we announce another Palisades Park program. Vince fully intends to present this lecture again in the future, if not with us, then in another local venue. His ebsite is http://www.palisadespark.com/lectures.html.
Again, we are very sorry to disappoint you. The program is very popular and filled up very quickly!
