Bob Adler-The Donald Cooper Model Railroad, a Look Back in Time

On Sunday March 31, 2019 at 1:15 p.m.  Bob Adler, chairperson of the Donald Cooper Model RR committee and Mahwah Museum Trustee, will present a gallery talk about how the DCMRR came to find its permanent home as an exhibit at Mahwah Museum. This talk will take place in the train room, downstairs at Mahwah Museum. Seating is limited; advanced reservations are recommended. To reserve, email gallerytalks@mahwahmuseum.org or call 201.512.0099. Gallery talks are free with museum admission.

All Aboard for a Gallery Talk covering the beginnings of the Donald Cooper Model Railroad exhibit at the Mahwah Museum!  See the railroad in its original form before moving to the museum.  I Think I Can, I Think I Can lay out some facts on how it has transitioned from a 13’x9’ layout to its current 13’x28’ DCC-powered operating railroad.  Conducted by Bob Adler who engineered this transition, the talk will be coupled with your admission into the museum.  Keep track of the date and time- Sunday, March 31 beginning at 1:15pm in the layout room. During the 45-minute talk, the railroad will be on the siding, not operating. Reservations for the gallery talk are recommended by contacting the museum by phone or on our website so that we may gauge the number of visitors.  If you’ve noticed at least five train references in this paragraph, you’re our kind of visitor!

This gallery talk is hosted by Mahwah Museum, located at 201 Franklin Turnpike Mahwah, NJ 07430.  The Museum is currently featuring the exhibits Kilmer: The Man Kilmer: The War Years, and WWI Part I and WWI Part II. Permanent exhibits are Les Paul in Mahwah and The Donald Cooper Model Railroad, which is open weekends 1-4 pm. The Museum is open weekends and Wednesdays from 1-4 pm.; admission $5 for non-members, members and children are free. Visit www.mahwahmuseum.org or call 201-512-0099 for information on events, membership and volunteering.
