Live Music at the 2016 Jazz and Blues Guitar Celebration
On Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 6:30 p.m., the Mahwah Museum will be hosting the Jazz and Blues Guitar Celebration at The Trustees Pavilion at Ramapo College of New Jersey, 505 Ramapo Valley Rd Mahwah, NJ
The event will include performances by Bucky Pizzarelli, Lou Pallo, and Ed Laub, Dave Stryker and Vic Juris.
The list of musicians Pizzarelli has collaborated with over his career includes Les Paul, Stephane Grappelli, and Benny Goodman. Pizzarelli acknowledges Django Reinhardt as a major influence.
Lou Pallo, was a long time Les Paul Trio guitarist and friend of Les Paul. Lou has recorded with and/or shared the stage with Les Paul, Tony Bennett, Keith Richards, Sammy Davis, Jr. Rickie Lee Jones, and Bucky Pizzarelli.
Ed Laub works primarily with other guitarists when not working with Bucky Pizzarelli and can be seen around the Bergen County area with the likes of Gene Bertoncini, Howard Alden, Paul Meyers, Martin Pizzarelli, Jack Wilkins, Russell Malone, Frank Vignola and pianist Russ Kassoff.
Dave Stryker has played and recorded with Stanley Turrentine, Kevin Mahogany, Victor Lewis, and Steve Slagle. Dave continues to perform with The Dave Stryker Organ Trio.
Vic Juris has played with Lyn Christie early and made his first recordings with Eric Kloss. He has also played with Barry Miles, Richie Cole, Don Patterson, Wild Bill Davis, Jimmy Smith, and Mel Torme.
This event will be the culmination of the Museums yearlong celebration of Les Paul’s 100th birthday. Also included at the celebration will be a silent auction of Les Paul memorabilia, and a live auction of autographed guitars.
Wine, hors d’oeuvres, and light fare will be served, and a raffle drawing for four autographed guitars will be held.
Admission tickets are $30 and can be purchased either online in our store or by visiting the museum at 201 Franklin Turnpike, Mahwah NJ, during our regular hours; Wednesday Saturday and Sunday 1-4 p.m..
Raffle tickets are $20 and can only be purchased in person, by visiting the museum during our regular hours, or by mailing cash or check payable to the Mahwah Museum Society to 201 Franklin Turnpike Mahwah, NJ 07430 with the number of raffle tickets desired.
