Mahwah Museum will be hosting its second Vinyl Listening Party on Thursday March 28, 2019. The evening will begin at 6:30 pm with wine and cheese, before the music begins. This will be an opportunity to visit the outstanding collection of artifacts from the Les Paul Estate on exhibit at the museum. Les’ lathe, sound on sound machine, eight track and mixing board are all here and cannot be found anywhere else. The first Vinyl Listening Party in the museum was very well received,
The theme for the evening is: Guitar Heroes.
So hold on tight for Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Angus Young, Eric Clapton, Nancy Wilson, and many, many more! It will be a night of guitar anthems, most you’ll know well but some surprises, too! And of course – the local guitar hero: Les Paul.
A feature that night will be the 2010 Jeff Beck and Imelda May – How High the Moon – tribute to Les Paul on the one year of his death.
All coming, of course, off of audiophile vinyl records.
Ray Ullmer, who will co-host this event, amid an amazing collection of Les Paul artifacts, has always been a huge music fan, and has been collecting albums in various formats since he was a teen. Throughout all that time, though, vinyl has always occupied a special place in his heart. When he recently upgraded his home system with a new turntable and speakers, he started the Cragmere Vinyl Club for like-minded music fans to play their favorite albums for each other.
