On Saturday June 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Lou Pallo, musician, friend of the museum and founding member of the of Les Paul Trio, will join the museum in celebration of Les Paul’s 103rd Birthday. Lou will play music and share stories about his more than thirty-five years as a member of the Les Paul Trio. This event will take place at the Mahwah Museum.
This event is included with museum admission. If you are a member of the museum, please bring along your membership card for free admission.
Mahwah Museum invites you to come listen to Lou play, and hear his stories of his friendship and time playing with Les. We invite you also to visit our Les Paul in Mahwah exhibit and to enjoy birthday cake in honor of Les’ birthday.
Lou will be joined by two other special guests:
Jason Recht (2:15-3:00 PM):
Jason, 13, has been playing guitar for seven years. It is his passion. Jim Wyscoki, long time friend of Les Paul, introduced Jason to Lou Pallo. Often, since that introduction, Jason has played with Lou and friends at Jiggs in Butler. Playing with Lou and so many other professional musicians has given Jason his “PhD” in performing. Jason admires, respects and adores Lou! On June 9, Jason will be playing guitar at the museum from 2:15-3:00 PM.
Jim Wysocki (3:15-4:00PM):
Jim will talk about his long time friendship with Les Paul, which began in 1980. He has a collection of Les Paul’s artifacts, which he acquired over the years, as Les’ friend. Jim will use these artifacts, given to him by Les, to explain ‘the genius of Les Paul.’ Also on display at the museum will be items from our Les Paul archival collection. Jim is in a unique position to explain various projects that Les had worked on in his last three decades.
