On Thursday October 3 at 7:30 p.m. Vince Gargiulo, Palisades Amusement Park Historian will present an informative lecture celebrating Palisades Amusement Park’s century of memories made. Part of the Mahwah Museum Lecture Series, the lecture will take place at Mahwah Museum, 201 Franklin Turnpike Mahwah, NJ 07430. Admission is $5, free for museum members. To celebrate the history of this New Jersey landmark, Mahwah Museum will be presenting this lecture. Vince’s lecture will feature images, video and sounds to present a comprehensive history of the Park, beginning with its inception in the late 1800’s, continuing through its rather checkered history, until its ultimate demise in the early 70’s. For those who visited Palisades Amusement Park, this event is sure to bring back those cherished remembrances. For those never lucky enough to have entered its colorful gates, Gargiulo’s lecture will recreate the thrills, laughter and joy that was Palisades Amusement Park.
This lecture is hosted by Mahwah Museum, located at 201 Franklin Turnpike Mahwah, NJ 07430. The Museum will reopen for the season on Sept. 22, 2019, featuring these exhibits: A College Comes to Mahwah, Ramapo College 1965-1975, Palisades Amusement Park Comes to Mahwah, and, Mahwah’s His-TREE, 75 years as a township. Permanent exhibits are Les Paul in Mahwah and The Donald Cooper Model Railroad, which is open weekends 1-4 pm. The Museum is open weekends and Wednesdays from 1-4 pm.; admission $5 for non-members, members and children are free.
